Mrs Flynn P1

Welcome to our Primary 1 page. We have 16 pupils in our Primary 1 class this year. Our class teachers are Mrs Flynn and Miss Hunt and our classroom assistant is Mrs Cochrane.

We create a positive and playful learning environment where pupils feel supported and valued. Our focus is achieving each child’s full potential and we know that young children learn best when learning is interactive, practical and enjoyable and therefore have a mixture of indoor and outdoor learning activities and experiences covering all 7 areas of the curriculum:

• Language and Literacy, 
• Mathematics and Numeracy, 
• Personal Development & Mutual Understanding,
• The World Around Us,
• The Arts, 
• Physical Development and Movement.
• Religious Education

We the take part in outdoor learning in all types of weather so it’s important to wear appropriate coats and footwear. We also try to go on as many outings as possible to experience the real world associated with our topics.

Our topics are

Term 1 ‘A Time to Rhyme’ and ‘Out in Space’

Term 2 ‘Birthdays’ and ‘Transport’

Term 3 ‘Living Things’

You will receive a class newsletter each half term to let you know about any trips or objects that can be brought into class to enhance our topics. If there is anything else that you can do to help we would love to hear though our Seesaw page or come and speak to me. The nurture and care of each child is paramount so please keep in touch if you have any concerns or worries.
