In St Malachy’s we strongly believe in building a close relationship between home and school. By working closely together, we can develop each child's abilities and aptitudes.

Parents are always welcome to come to school and discuss their child’s progress with the class teacher.   We offer an opportunity for parents to discuss their child's progress, both academic and social, on the parents interview day in November. This interview day also enables teachers to report back to parents on their child's progress. Parents may also arrange an appointment to see the teacher whenever there is a need or concern.  At the end of the Summer Term a report is written on each child's social and academic progress. You are welcome to discuss this report with the class teacher if you so wish. 

There is also an Open Day when prospective Primary 1 parents can meet with the P1 teacher and classroom assistant. There are many other occasions when parents and friends are invited to the school to celebrate with us including Sacramental days, school assemblies, World Book week, Grandparents' day, Christmas nativities, amongst many others.   

We also have a flourishing Parents’ Association which we could encourage you to join. You can see details of some of the activities they organise throughout the year as well as how you can join
